Welcome Keynote: Priorities for financing a resilient net zero future Introducedby: Steve Waygood,Chief Responsible Investment Officer, Aviva Investors Opening remarks: High-level Champion of Global Climate Action Today’s sessions will highlight how leaders across the global financial system are taking bold action towards net zero by 2050 consistent with 1.5C and are committed to implement and accelerate the transition.There is a real credible shift underway in private sector actions to innovate and scale-up capital flows into emerging market and developing countries.The sessions will feature tangible, near-term actions from the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) chaired by Mark Carney in collaboration with the High-level Champions and Race to Zero as well as deep dives into how we transition the finance sector and how we finance the transition.Looking forwards, with enabling policies, private finance actors will work with public finance to accelerate transition in emerging and developing economies, and in financing nature and resilience, but also a just transition.

Actions and progress from the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero Chaired by Mark Carney, UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance and UK Prime Minister Johnson’s Finance Adviser for COP26, and the COP26 Private Finance Hub. This panel session will provide an update on GFANZ outcomes, including credible published targets, and how we can transition the finance sector using the Marrakech Partnership finance pathway as our roadmap and exploring how GFANZ can integrate climate resilience and adaptation considerations. Creating a step change in private capital for emerging markets and developing countries Moderator:Barbara Buchner, Global Managing Director, Climate Policy Initiative, this 30 minute panel will focus on catalytic initiatives that are enabling the scaling of private finance mobilisation in these markets, and showcasing the GFANZ emerging market & developing country finance statement and providing a deeper dive on FAST-Infra -a platform for de-risking and mobilising investment and a new sustainable infrastructure labelling system.Speakers:

Financing nature and curbing deforestation With an introduction from Nicolette Bartlett, Chief Impact Officer, CDP, this panel session moderated by Danielle Carreira of the World Economic Forum, Tropical Forest Alliance, will centre around commitments on eliminating commodity-driven deforestation and explore new tools available to enable scaling up the investment into nature based solutions.Speakers:
